SCRIPTURE AND SERMON Rev. Steve

Staying Positive: Cure for Complaining

Optimism is the unwavering expectation that our loving God is working every situation, for our future good.

Complain means: to remain or stay overnight.

A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart, the spirit is crushed.
Proverbs 15:13 ESV

Gratitude is simply being aware of and being thankful for the good things that are happening in your life.

Gratitude Truths
1) Gratitude eliminates toxic emotions (fear, anger, shame, envy)
2) Gratitude reduces pain
3) Gratitude improves sleep quality
4) Gratitude aids in reducing stress
5) Gratitude reduces anxiety and depression

Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:4-7 ESV
