Children’s Ministry

Nursery

Children 6 weeks through 4 years of age are welcome to stay with our trained nursery staff during Wednesday evening and Sunday morning activities. Nursery staff will provide a snack, short Bible story, and lots of time to play with peers.

Parents/guardians are required to sign their children in and out of the St. Paul nursery with a staff member present. Parents/guardians may not leave the church campus after signing-in their children to nursery care.

Children’s Church

This worship space provides an age-appropriate experience that helps children learn about the basic liturgical flow of the church and about elements of worship like song, responsive reading, scripture reading, and preaching – all in a fun, energetic environment made for young minds!

While our programming is aimed at children in pre-K through 2nd grade, our doors are open to all children through 5th grade. We embrace and celebrate that children develop at different rates. Therefore, we ask parents and caregivers to evaluate the specific needs of their child when deciding if Children’s Church is an enriching, engaging space for them. Please speak to our Director of Student and Family Ministries, Abigail Harrison, if you have questions about your child participating.

Children can be picked up from the chapel at the end of worship. Children may be picked up early if parents wish for them to participate in communion as a family.

Sunday School and Wednesday Nights

Students in Kindergarten to 5th grade are invited to join us on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings for fun, fellowship, and faith formation in the Family and Student Ministries Wing on the 2nd floor.

Children and Youth Protection Policy

St. Paul UMC is transitioning to a new Children and Youth Protection Policy. Ministry Safe is a comprehensive, church-wide program designed and intended to reduce the risk of abuse to children, youth, and vulnerable adults.

Each adult working with minors and vulnerable adults must be Ministry Safe certified. We provide Ministry Safe training for those interested. All volunteers must have a completed background check.
