Out of all the things that we talked about in Confirmation Class, I decided to write this paper about the Bible because I think that it means the most to me. It is one of the main reasons why Christianity exists today. The people who wrote it were very dedicated to Jesus and God. Some even went to jail.
This topic is important to Christians because it gives them things to worship about. Other than that, it gives people something to study when they just start being a Christian. It also is important because it describes God’s character.
Two quotes from the Bible describing it are 1 Thessalonians 2:13, “and we also thank God continually because when you receive the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as
a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.”
2 Peter 3:16, “He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other scriptures, to their own destruction.”
A source for all translations of the Bible are Greek and other mauscripts. There are many biblical scholars today and one is Timothy Keller, who said, “Look at Jesus Christ. Every time he was in trouble, he used the Word of God. When he was tempted, he used the Word. When he was suffering, Jesus used the Word.”
This research personally impacted my faith in Jesus Christ by teaching me more about the Bible. My church can respond to this topic by reading more about the Bible. In conclusion, the Bible is a great way to study the actions of Christ.
