Our family is excited about this opportunity to reengage a student ministry, especially among the area colleges. It will be an honor to serve Christ alongside you.
Having served as a missionary in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Korea, and inner-city missions, each ministry I undertake is shaped by this identity. Bringing experience, we have served locally with international students and a student teaching ministry as we finished our seminary studies–my Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry and my wife’s Master of Family Ministry. I have worked for over 20 years with the school and college ministries calling, mentoring, and supporting leaders to follow their purpose. It is exciting to see them continue growing in Christ as they spread out worldwide.

As your director of student ministries, I dream of encouraging the diverse growth of the whole body through friendship networks as I respectfully learn the history of Kingdom expansion efforts for this specific church. My task as a learner will be a priority as I strive to build the necessary relationships that will unify our family to this body of Christ. Over time, I imagine encouraging new leaders, mentors, holistic inclusion processes, fellowship unity, compassion outreach, and spiritual formation to deepen church membership and Christian belonging among God’s people here. In due time, we hope to strive for ordination in the United Methodist Church to continue our Wesleyan mission started hundreds of years ago from the foundations laid by missionaries to Korea.
We thank you for your loving welcome and look forward to bonding with you more in the future.
Blessings,
Matthew, Heena, and Aspen Watson
