Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I encourage you to join us as we pray for each other and seek God’s blessings amid this current global crisis. In these uncertain times, we must lean into the promises of God! God is with us! God will never leave us or forsake us! God is good! God will get us through this crisis!
To slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic the Centers for Disease Control is advising against gatherings of 10 people or more for the next several weeks. This will be difficult, but we do need to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.
With concern for the elderly and medically compromised, we announce the following actions at St. Paul Abilene.
· Our worship service will be via broadcast ONLY! (See the full list of options below under “Join Us From Home!”)
· All Sunday School class meetings will be put on hold.
· All of our Wednesday activities will be placed on hold.
· All of our church committee meetings will also be put on hold.
All of these plans will be re-evaluated weekly.
Our staff is working on some creative ways to keep us connected to each other during these unprecedented times. We need your prayers as we seek to make sound ministry decisions moving forward.
As the church, we will continue to be the church! And with that, I am asking you to help us do these simple things:
· Look out for each other
· Pray for each other
· Be intentional about calling your friends and neighbors
· Keep the church office informed of any needs within our family.
Join us from home!
We are fortunate to have a committed, trained media team capable of sharing our worship services with those not present in the Sanctuary. You can always find us:
Our 11:00 am service is broadcast live every Sunday on KTXS. Look for “St. Paul Abilene” in your channel guide. Occasionally, our regular schedule is modified by ABC Programming. The next such changes are April 26 and May 3 when our services will be preempted on KTXS and KTXE due to NBA Playoffs on ABC but will air on NTXS and NTXE (CW channels) at the same dates and times.
STAY WITH US if the feed is interrupted! We have been alerted to significant delays and signal loss by our streaming provider. They are working to remedy the situation as soon as possible. We will post a link to the broadcast archive later this evening for those who are unable to watch live.
Joining the online community is a great way to stay connected. Visit watch.stpaulabilene.org at 11 am on Sundays to see the live stream and chat with other online viewers.
via Facebook Live
No matter the Television broadcast situation, we regularly stream the service on our Facebook Page: St Paul Abilene. In the event you miss a service, you can also see previous services in our video archive.
via our myStPaul app
In addition to Television and Facebook, we also have our worship service live stream available in our myStPaul app for mobile devices and streaming boxes such as Roku and AppleTV. Previous Sermons are also in our media archive in the app.
After the first COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the US, our staff made plans for different cleaning procedures. Beginning March 1, additional cleaning protocols have been in place for doors, tables, counters, bathrooms, etc. While handwashing with soap and warm water is preferred, we have additional hand-sanitizing stations around the building, including common entrance areas.
See this YouTube video for a quick guide on proper handwashing.
If you have a need, please contact us! We want to help!
If you are feeling unwell or are in an at-risk demographic group, please consider staying away from crowds and large gatherings.
We are asking everyone who attends events at St Paul to greet with elbow- or foot-bumps to avoid hand-to-hand contact.
