Puerto Rico Mission Trip 2019
June 15-22, 2019.
We are looking for a team of adults, 18 or older, willing to travel to Puerto Rico and do relief work repairing damage from Hurricane Maria in 2017. Our trip will be hosted by the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico and UMCOR.
Participant cost will be approximately $1500 with the church assisting with a one-third ($500) grant for each participant. We anticipate our work will be rebuilding homes and chapels but we will not know our specific assignment until about 2 weeks out from our departure.
An innovative ministry established to mobilize the Church to go outside its walls in order to take the message of Christ into the heart of each community.
The Jungle is a fun, “
We will be working with some of the 3rd-5th graders at Johnston Elementary school from 3:15 – 4:15.
Feed the Hungry:
We have many opportunities to feed the hungry. St. Paul is actively involved in the work of the Methodist Service Center and Food Pantry. We provide funding, food, and many of the hands that help the pantry run. This group of people is also looking at other ways to alleviate the hunger and nutrition problems of our neighbors.
If construction is your gift, you can use your talents as St. Paul partners with two wonderful organizations: Habitat for Humanity and the Texas Ramp Project. On the last weekend of every month (and other dates, too) you will find St. Paul people involved with one or the other of these building projects.
Mission Trips are always on the calendar at St. Paul. We will find ways to transform our neighborhood, Abilene, and the Big Country. An All-Church Mission trip gives our Youth and Adults an opportunity to connect with each other in service and love to people near and far.
Please join the highly committed disciples who share our love of God by serving our neighbors.
